Suplementação com ácido linoleico conjugado e composição corporal: Uma revisão sistemática

Resumo

O presente estudo teve como objetivo fazer uma revisão da literatura sobre publicações que avaliaram a associação entre a ingestão de Ácido linoleico conjugado (CLA) e a composição corporal em humanos. Trata-se de uma revisão sistemática nas bases de dados Pubmed, Lilacs e Scielo, sem restrições quanto ao ano de publicação e idioma dos estudos. Utilizou-se o Medical Subject Headings (MeSH) para localizar os termos. A presente revisão seguiu as normas do Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA). Foram localizados 583 estudos, dos quais 28 estavam nos critérios de inclusão e foram incluídos na revisão. Treze estudos não encontraram nenhum tipo de associação e 15 encontraram alguma associação entre o CLA e a composição corporal em humanos. Parece não haver diferenças entre doses moderadas e elevadas nos resultados. O principal resultado desse estudo é que o CLA parece funcionar modestamente na perda de gordura em pessoas com sobrepeso ou obesidade. Contudo, são necessários mais estudos para comprovar a eficácia e segurança do CLA a longo prazo.
