Glucosa salival: Asociación con parámetros glicolipémicos y cuantificación por FT-IR en trabajadores rurales

Resumen

Se desarrolló un nuevo método basado en la espectroscopia de absorción molecular infrarroja por transformada de Fourier (FT-IR) y quimiometría para la cuantificación de glucosa salival utilizando muestras de saliva y sangre de 104 trabajadores rurales de cinco municipios de Vale do Rio Pardo-RS, Brasil. El hallazgo más relevante en el perfil glicolipémico fue la mayor prevalencia de niveles elevados de colesterol total y HDL en mujeres (p<0,05). La hipertrigliceridemia también fue más prevalente en mujeres considerando sólo valores por encima del límite máximo deseable (1,0509 mmol.L-1). La glucosa salival osciló entre 0 y 0,7221 mmol.L-1 y no mostró correlación significativa con los parámetros glicolipémicos evaluados. El análisis de regresión mediante mínimos cuadrados parciales entre los espectros salivales de 1ª derivada adquiridos mediante la técnica de reflectancia especular (SRIFTS) y los respectivos valores de glucosa en saliva evaluados mediante el método enzimático dieron como resultado un modelo quimiométrico con buena calidad predictiva (RMSECV=0,0007; RMSEP = 0,0009, R2=0,999990, p<0,0001). Por lo tanto, se concluye que el uso de glucosa salival no es un biomarcador adecuado para evaluar el perfil glicolipémico en trabajadores rurales. Por otro lado, puede estimarse fácilmente mediante FT-IR mediante un método quimiométrico.
