Ejercicio físico y apidonectina: ¿cuál es el impacto en la Salud Pública?

Resumen

De un simple depósito de energía, el adipocito pasó a ser considerado como un órgano endocrino. Entre las diversas sustancias sintetizadas y liberadas por los adipocitos, la adiponectina se ha destacado porque su alta concentración en sangre está relacionada con la salud y la calidad de vida. Por el contrario, sus niveles bajos se asocian con una peor calidad de vida y algunas enfermedades. A su vez, la práctica de actividades físicas es ampliamente reconocida como promotora de la salud. Sin embargo, el impacto de la actividad física sobre las concentraciones de adiponectina es desconocido para la mayoría de los profesionales de la salud. Así, esta revisión tuvo como objetivo presentar los estudios más recientes e importantes que verificaron esa relación y sus repercusiones para la salud pública. En general, el efecto del ejercicio físico sobre la concentración de adiponectina aún no está claro. A pesar de ello, algunos autores encuentran un aumento de la adiponectinemia como efecto del ejercicio físico y esto podría ser muy beneficioso para la salud pública.
