Importance of the exercise in the metabolic syndrome
Abstract
The prevalence of obesity is increasing in almost all countries and is now considered an epidemic of major proportions. Obesity is directly related to other diseases and is the main risk factor for the chronic degenerative diseases. The number of cardiovascular risk factors associated with insulin resistance and abdominal obesity features a complex disorder called Metabolic Syndrome (SM). Epidemiological studies have shown direct relationship between physical inactivity and the presence of multiple risk factors as those found in MS. However, it has been shown that the practice of regular physical exercise shows beneficial effects in the prevention and treatment of hypertension, insulin resistance, diabetes, dyslipidemia and obesity. Therefore, the physical condition should be encouraged for all, and healthy people with multiple risk factors, if they are able to participate in a program of physical training.
