Effects of the program of supervised exercise on body composition after bariatric surgery: case report

Abstract

Bariatric surgery is indicated for the treatment of morbid obesity. It is not clear contribution of exercise to reduce body weight after bariatric surgery. Nevertheless, it is a consensus that the practice of regular exercise promotes various health benefits in different disease states. For a better prognosis of bariatric surgery the multidisciplinary team it is fundamental. The supervised exercise program can optimize the reduction of body weight after this kind of surgery. This case report aims to describe the impact of a program of supervised exercise on body mass, body fat percentage (%), fat mass and lean mass in a patient undergoing bariatric surgery.
