Evaluation of the nutritional, clinical and biochemical alterations in patients to the bariatric surgery in pre and post-operative period
Abstract
The objective of the study was toevaluate the nutritional, clinical and biochemical alterations in 15 patients submitted to the bariatric surgery, by the technique of Fobi-Capella, during the pre and post-operative periods (3rd month). It was verified in the two periods the rate of weight loss, prevalence of nutritional lack, comorbidity changes related to the obesity, post-operative complications (vomits, nauseas, alopecia, daily intestinal habit), as well as the nutritional need and tolerance to the daily alimentary ingestion. It was also analyzed the adaptations in the biochemical profiles and of macro and micronutrients. The weight loss average was 22,57+2,12 kg, with loss of 50,47% of the excess weight and reduction of 19,23% of initial BMI. There was a reduction of the sedentarism among the patients and an increase in individuals classified as active people. In the dietary analysis, a meaningful reduction was verified (p <0,01) in most of the nutrients and caloric consumption. Clinical alterations in the post-operative period were beneficial in relation to blood pressure, sleep alteration and daily intestinal habit. The biochemical profiles of almost all the studied components prevailed appropriate, in both periods. Analyzing the data obtained until the third month after surgery, it was noticed that, if the patients continue with established care and also follow the nutritional guidelines, with the consequent gradual reintroduction of micronutrients, you can combine the weight reduction and comorbidities with permanent quality of life.
