Bariatric surgery: A way to treat morbid obesity
Abstract
Morbid obesity is a multifactorial and chronic disorder associated with great damage to individual and public health. Due to its severity and difficult management, new treatment strategies are being proposed, with special attention to bariatric surgery. The objective of this study is to present an overview of the indications and control indications of this procedure, surgical techniques, possible clinical and metabolic complications, and results obtained with each technique.
