Assessment of usual diet of adult women with overweight and obesity, attending a special feeding of the municipality of Juiz de Fora -Minas Gerais
Abstract
Objective: To assess the usual diet women aged 19 to 54 years, overweight and obesity, met in privateon Nutrition, in Juiz de Fora-MG.Materials and methods: The records of the individuals were selected according to IMC classification proposed by WHO (1998), overweight (n = 10), obesity (n = 10) and control (n = 10). We excluded women with any diseases or not obesidade.A 3 day food record was completed by patients and analyzed by AVANUTRI 3.1.4.Results program version: There was a dietary pattern with high intake of proteins, lipids and saturated fats and low intake of fibers.A caloric intake and cholesterol was above the recommendation for the groups with overweight and obesity. Discussion: the diet with high energy density, provided mainly by the high intake of lipids, highlighting the saturated fats and low fiber intake contribute to the increased prevalence of obesity. Conclusion: nutrition education activities must be performed for all population groups in order to prevent further complications.
