Effect of physical activity in fat metabolism
Abstract
The aim of this study was to verify the modification and adaptations of lipid metabolism through the stress of exercise. The methodology was a systematic review, based on original studies, using methods previously defined and explicit to identify, select and critically evaluate search considered relevant, contributing as a theoretical and practical, through a literature graded. In 10 articles, were found positive results for the reduction of fat mass. Since 3 of them in the parameter used was the total weight and in 6 studies, the authors used the percentage of fat to show results. In Article 1 the parameter used was the sum of skinfolds. In 3 studies, the results showed that the percentage of fat was not affected by exercise. Based on the studies cited, one can say that physical exercise is an important agent for reduction of fat mass. Both aerobic, anaerobic, continuous or fractionated promote increased oxidation of fat, is using them as energy substrate or increasing the daily caloric expenditure
