Overweight prevalence and obesity in scholars of Apucarana/PR
Abstract
Objective: to evaluate the nutritional state and the level of physical activity of children between 9 and 11 years of age of 1° 4° series in public schools of basic education of a school of Apucarana/PR. Methods: evaluation of the level of physical activity of the adolescents was made through the application of the International Questionnaire of Physical Activities for adolescents (CELAFISCS, 2005). The collection of the anthropometrics data for evaluation of the state Nutritional according to IMC (Kg/m ²), was made with scale of Filizola mark with capacity of 150Kg and precision of 100g and estadiometro used was of the Sanny mark with capacity of 2,2 meters. Results and Conclusion: The participation of children and adolescents in sportive activities is important for the process of growth and development, which must periodically be evaluated. The results gotten in this study had been satisfactory in relation to the level of physical activity, being the majority active, in the masculine sex the result were of (55.29%), no longer feminine sex were of (59.78%). As for the classification how much to the IMC the majority also is in eutrophic state, being that in the masculine sex it was gotten (78.8%) and in the feminine sex (59.78%). In the comparison between IMC and the level of physical activity between the sexes masculine and feminine, the following ones had been gotten resulted: in the classification low weight, predominates the feminine sex in active (25%), in eutrofia classification 29.3% of the masculine sex it has active level of physical activity, and 31.59% of the feminine sex and in the classification of overweight 44.5% of the feminine sex are very active and 33.3% of the masculine sex are active.
