Body composition assessment of elderly 20th meeting attendee’s happy age - Águas de Lindóia – SP - 2008
Abstract
This work proposed to establish a body comparison of active elderly under age of sixty, seventy, and eighty. The data collecting were made in the month of April of 2008, where were evaluated the following items: body weight, lean mass weight, fat weight, skinfold of triceps, biceps and abdomen. The following parameters were used in the elderly profile determination. From these data were found among the groups that didn’t have difference in the body weight, lean mass weight, fat weight, skinfold of triceps, biceps and abdomen. The results showed that the regular practice of physical activities helps about the point of view of body composition doing that the fat percentage keeps on the age of eight’s and presenting lower risks of diseases linked with fat accumulation like obesity.
