Consumo de frutas e perda de peso: uma revisão sistemática e meta-análise

Resumo

A obesidade é uma doença que atinge grande parte da população e piora a qualidade de vida do indiví­duo. Estudos longitudinais e transversais associaram o consumo de frutas à perda de peso. O objetivo deste estudo foi fazer uma revisão sistemática e meta-análise sobre estudos experimentais que avaliaram os efeitos do consumo de frutas no peso corporal em humanos. Trata-se de uma revisão sistemática e meta-análise, seguindo as recomendaçães do PRISMA, na base de dados do Pubmed e Cochrane. Foram incluí­dos estudos experimentais que avaliaram os efeitos do consumo de frutas na perda de peso. Foram incluí­dos nove estudos, dos quais 89% encontraram efeitos significativos na perda de peso. Na meta-análise, houve uma perda de peso significativa de 410 gramas em comparação ao grupo controle [SMD: -0.41; 95% IC: -0.66, -0.15; p = 0.59; I2 = 0%].  A presente revisão sistemática e meta-análise demonstrou que consumir mais frutas pode ajudar na perda e manutenção do peso corporal. Intervençes baseadas no consumo de frutas podem ser uma última opção para ajudar a diminuir as elevadas taxas de obesidade da população mundial.
